Circulation Services

Circulation Services is the first point of contact for many Cleveland State library users. The Circulation Desk is located in the southwest corner of the library, immediately to the right of the entrance.

Services provided by the Circulation Desk staff include:

  • checking out and receiving items from the circulating collection;
  • checking out and receiving Course Reserves, Chromebooks, hotspots, and calculators;
  • renewing eligible items;
  • issuing borrower cards and computer access credentials for library users from the local community;
  • providing way-finding assistance;
  • processing intercampus and interlibrary loan requests;
  • answering questions about circulation policies and procedures;
  • processing payment for library fines (if paid in cash);
  • placing holds on items currently on loan;
  • troubleshooting issues with on-site computers, printers, and scanners.
  • issuing Cleveland State IDs
Questions about any of our Circulation Services? Email library_staff@clevelandstatecc.edu or call (423) 473-2277.

Interlibrary Loan

Need a book or an article not in our collection? Request it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) by completing the request form corresponding to the item's format.

Print books arrive in an average of 7 business days; however, delivery times vary based on availability and lender location. Articles and book chapters are delivered in electronic format within 1-5 days on average.

You will be notified by e-mail and phone when your item arrives at the library and receive instructions for pick-up. Please note that due dates are set by the library lending the item. If you believe you will need additional time, contact library_staff@clevelandstatecc.edu as soon as possible to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the lending library's discretion.

Course Reserves

Course Reserves allow currently enrolled Cleveland State students access to supplementary course materials and readings at no cost. Both library and faculty-owned books can be placed on reserve. If you would like to place items on reserve, fill out and submit the Course Reserve Request Form. Please note that you will need to submit a form for each item you wish to place on reserve.

Once your request has been processed, students will be able to borrow the reserved item(s) by presenting their campus ID at the Circulation Desk.
