General Guidelines & Policies

The library staff strives to provide dedicated spaces and services for student study and research.  To get the most benefit from your library experience, please keep in mind the following guidelines:

  • Ask questions!  Your library staff are here to help you so please let us know how we can assist.
  • Need technology?  The library has computers available for student use.  Library computers are equipped with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer.  If all of the computers are in use, please see the library staff at the circulation desk.
  • In order to maximize everyone's access and time on the campus computer network, please limit your time on the computers to learning.  Internet games, commercial videos, and movies should be viewed at home.
  • You must have your student ID to check out library materials. Learn more about checking out library materials in the Circulation Policies and Procedures section below.
  • Printing, copying, and scanning options are available in the library. To access the 300 free copies you are allotted each semester, simply log in at the student print station with your CougarNet credentials.
  • Group study spaces can be reserved on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested, inquire at the circulation desk.
  • Please take all calls to the library foyer as cell phone use is not permitted elsewhere in the library.
  • Water bottles, covered drinks, and non-messy snacks are allowed but please keep all such items away from keyboards and books.
  • Share your ideas and needs with us. You and your ideas make this your library!

Thanks for helping create and maintain a positive library environment.
