Constitution Day

There are lots of opportunities scattered throughout the year for us to celebrate American History and to learn more about our collective past.  One of those pretty cool opportunities is the celebration of Constitution Day every year on September 17th. The date was chosen to commemorate the signing of the Constitution on September 17, 1787.

Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor discusses the importance of studying the Constitution. 

Justice Sandra Day O'Connor discusses the ideas that shaped our Constitution as it was drafted in the summer of 1787. 

Ken Burns visits with the National Constitution Center to discuss the Constitution during the Civil War and Reconstruction, the Great Depression, and World War II.  

There are so many amazing resources at the National Constitution Center.  There are blogs, videos, podcasts, and all kinds of other goodies that you can check out to learn so much about the Constitution of the United States.
